How to Calculate Percentage Using the 7-Point Grading System
To calculate your percentage based on the 7-point grading system, follow the formula below:
Percentage = (Total marks secured in all six semesters × 100) ÷ Total marks of all six semesters
Step-by-Step Guide:
- Determine Total Marks of All Six Semesters
Add up the total maximum marks for all six semesters. For example:- FYBA: 600 marks
- SYBA: 800 marks
- TYBA: 600 marks
Grand Total = 2000 marks
- Determine Marks Secured in All Six Semesters
Add up the marks you secured across all six semesters. - Apply the Formula
Multiply the total marks secured by 100, then divide the result by the grand total of all semesters.
Example Calculation
Suppose:
- Total marks of all six semesters = 2000
- Marks secured in all six semesters = 1200
Using the formula:
Percentage = (1200 × 100) ÷ 2000
Percentage = 120000 ÷ 2000
Percentage = 60%
Points to Remember
- Ensure you include the total marks and marks secured for all six semesters.
- Double-check your addition for both the total marks and marks secured.
- This percentage calculation is crucial for understanding your academic performance.
