महाराष्ट्रातील राष्ट्रपती राजवट – १९६० पासून एप्रिल २०२२ पर्यंत तीन वेळा लागू

पहिल्यांदा १९८० मध्ये शरद पवारांचे पुलोद सरकार बरखास्त करण्यात आले तेव्हा राष्ट्रपती राजवट लागू करण्यात आली होती. १७ फेब्रुवारी ते ८ जून १९८० – तब्बल ११२ दिवस म्हणजेच जवळपास ४ महिने. दुसऱ्यांदा २८ सप्टेंबर ते ३० ऑक्टोबर २०१४ अशी ३२ दिवसांसाठी लागू करण्यात आली होती. त्यावेळी काँग्रेसचे पृथ्वीराज चव्हाण मुख्यमंत्री होते. काँग्रेस आणि राष्ट्रवादीची युती तुटली, राष्ट्रवादीने मंत्रीमंडळाला असलेला पाठिंबा काढून घेतला आणि त्यामुळे पृथ्वीराज चव्हाणांसमोर राजीनामा देण्याशिवाय दुसरा पर्याय राहीला नाही. त्यानंतर विधानसभा बरखास्त करण्यात आली आणि पुन्हा निवडणुका जाहीर करण्यात आल्या. ३१ ऑक्टोबर २०१४ ला भाजपच्या देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांनी मुख्यमंत्रीपदाची शपथ घेतली. १३ व्या विधानसभेत बहुमत मिळवून सत्तेवर आलेले त्यांचे सरकार ८ नोव्हेंबर २०१९ पर्यंत सत्तेमधे होते.

२०१९ च्या निवडणुकांनंतर कोणत्याच पक्षाला स्पष्ट बहुमत मिळाले नाही. त्यावेळी तिसऱ्यांदा राष्ट्रपती राजवट लागू करण्यात आली. महिनाभर विविध पक्षांनी सत्ता मिळवण्यासाठी विविध प्रयत्न केले. शेवटी महाविकास आघाडीला सत्ता मिळाली.

10 NovemberThe BJP declines to form a government due to a lack of a majority. Shiv Sena is invited to form government.

11 NovemberShiv Sena fails to get support. The NCP is invited to form government.

12 NovemberThe NCP is invited form government. President’s rule is proposed by the Governor and later approved and imposed by the Union Cabinet.

22 NovemberShiv Sena, NCP, INC unanimously decided to form government under the leadership of Uddhav Thackeray.

23 NovemberAt midnight, the BJP with NCP’s Ajit Pawar claimed to form government. This was accepted by the Governor and a recommendation to lift president’s rule was sent to the central government. At 5:47 am, president’s rule was lifted from Maharashtra. In the early morning, at 8 am, Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar took oath as Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra respectively.Shiv Sena, INC, NCP petition the Supreme Court for a special hearing.
