Staff meeting and Purchase committee meeting
Inaugural staff meeting was held in the Principal’s office on the first day of the college. I/C Principal Dr. Nagesh Suryawanshi guided the meeting.
Purchase committee was held after general staff meeting. Assistant Professor Pramod Dhengle chaired the meeting. Associate Professor Shubharaj Buwa, OS Sunil Kirve and I/C Principal Dr. Nagesh Suryawanshi were present. It was decided to develop a form for all the staff members, for placing purchase orders according to new guidelines by the Gokhale Education Society.
Fruit distribution by NSS volunteers
On 25th June NSS volunteers, under the guidance of Programme Office and Assistant Professor Sandeep Kajabe, distributed fruits to patients in the children’s ward of the KEM hospital.

Considering the issues during the Lok Sabha Election-2024, everyone should check whether their name is listed. If not, fill out Form Number 8 for updates during this period. The Election Commission will not change its stance until we become vigilant. Instead of discussing it later, be proactive now and ensure the missing names are added back. Mock Peer Team Visit – 13th July 2024

Gokhale Education Society (GES) has a longstanding tradition of supporting, guiding, and motivating its affiliated units in all their endeavours. Reflecting this tradition, on Saturday, 13th July 2024, a mock peer team visited our college to conduct a comprehensive review. The team was comprised of esteemed members including the Chairperson of GES, Dr. Mrs. Suhasini Sant, Vice Principal Dr. Leena Bhat, Principal Dr. Sandhya Khedekar, along with Dr. Mahesh Auti and Dr. Sharma.
The exercise began at 10:30 am and continued rigorously until 5 pm. Throughout the day, the team meticulously examined each document, ensuring nothing was overlooked. They provided invaluable feedback, suggesting necessary changes and highlighting areas requiring immediate attention. Their insights and recommendations were instrumental in identifying aspects of our operations that needed improvement.
This exhaustive review session not only aimed to identify weaknesses but also to build upon our strengths. The mock peer team’s visit was an enlightening experience that helped us transition from a good institution to a better one, and ultimately, towards achieving excellence. Their dedication and thorough approach have left us with a clear path to follow, ensuring that we continue to strive for the highest standards in education and administration.
Dr. Pranav Ratnaparkhi, In-charge, GES-NAAC Committee & Coordinator, IQAC, HPT Arts & RYK Science College, Nashik organised the whole event. He was expected to join the team, but unfortunately due to certain unavoidable circumstances he had to skip the visit.
NAAC Peer Team Visit preparations
All staff members prepared for the NAAC Peer Team Visit on Sun 14th and 17th July 2024, besides daily preparations.
NAAC Peer Team Visit – 17th to 20th July 2024

Actual visit was on 18th and 19th July 2024. All three members of the team arrived on 17th July 2024 from Bhavnagar, Ghaziabad and Tiruchirapalli by air. A meeting with the I/C Principal Dr. Nagesh Suryawanshi and IQAC coordinator Shubharaj Buwa was held at the Sahil Hotel in the evening at around 4:30 pm. Visit was completed on 18th and 19th July 2024. Video recording of the visit is available here.
During the visit the team had an introductory session with all staff members, followed by Principal’s presentation, IQAC presentation, departmental presentation, visit to the library, office, gymnasium, IQAC office, girl’s common room, toilet facilities, computer centre. Prof. Dr. Auti, representative of the Gokhale Education Society, had a cordial talk with the team during lunch. After lunch they had meetings with the alumni, parents of current students and few current students. They also visited the staff room and had detailed discussions with the members. Detailed discussion was also held with the non-teaching staff.
Grade ‘B’ in the fourth cycle
The outcome of the Assessment and Accreditation (A&A) exercise of the College was processed and approved by the Standing Committee constituted by the Executive Committee to examine the peer team reports and declare the accreditation results. Dr. T. K. Tope Arts & Commerce Night College was Accredited with a CGPA of 2.12 on a seven point scale at B Grade valid for a period of 5 years from 27 – 07 – 2024.1
Principal’s address for first year students
An orientation programme for new entrants of the college in first year BA and BCOM was organised from 8 pm to 10 pm in the third floor hall of the college. Around 170 students attended. I/C Principal and staff members guided the students.



Library attendant Ankush Wanjiwale retired
Ankush Ramchandra Wanjivale retired. He had joined college as Peon on 2nd Jan 1993. Retired today as a Library attendant. 31 years of service. An all-rounder. A programme was organised to felicitate him. All staff members were present besides his mother (85), daughters, sons and son-in-laws, friends. The event was marked by the presentation of gifts and bouquets, celebrating his invaluable contributions.


Remedial lectures
Remedial lectures were held in online and offline mode during the month for students appearing for the ATKT examinations held in July and August 2024.

Kargil Vijay Diwas
Kargil Vijay Diwas (lit. ’Kargil Victory Day’) is celebrated every year on 26 of July in India, to observe India’s victory over Pakistan in the Kargil War for ousting Pakistani Forces from their occupied positions on the mountain tops of Northern Kargil District in Ladakh in 1999. Messages were sent in all student groups informing them about the event.

Dr. Ram Kulkarni’s lecture about Late Sir Dr. M. S. Gosavi, former secretary and director, Gokhale Education Society was organised by the Mumbai division of Gokhale education society.

- Dr. Pankaj Pandagale delivered a guest lecture at Dalmia College on “Direct taxes demystified – your essential exam guide” for TYBCOM students.

- Visit to the Bombay High Court
A group of 27 students from FYBA and TYBA (Political Science) visited the Bombay High Court, accompanied by Prof. S. P. Buwa and Prof. S. S. Kajabe. The visit was organised by past student Advocate Ravindra Chile. The students explored the High Court Museum, attended sessions in four different courts, including the Chief Justice’s court, and visited the Maharashtra State Legal Services Authority. Justice Bhagwat and Under Secretary Mr. Ingle provided insights on the availability of free legal aid services and the process to obtain them. - Prof. Sanjay Mestri delivered an online lecture on the occasion of Vachan Prerana Din on Vachan ani Vyaktitva Vikas

- VSC for Political Science – Psephology students conducted an election related survey among 30 staff members of the college. A random sample of 15 (50% of total staff members) was selected from the staff list. A questionnaire was prepared and students interviewed 15 staff members.

- 15 Mar – ISO external audit was conducted.
April 2025
- 2nd and 4th Semester regular exams were conducted.
- 1 April – Prof. (Dr.) S. B. Karande was appointed as a full time Principal. I/C Principal Dr. Nagesh Suryawanshi handed over the charge to the new Principal.
May 2025
- Maharashtra Day was celebrated in the College premises. All staff members were present. Principal Dr. S. B. Karande hoisted the flag.
- First year admission process started from second week of May after declaration of HSC 12th results.
- Staff meetings were conducted to finalise the NEP structure.
