Annual Report for The year 2021-22
We faced the end of the second wave and third wave of the pandemic in the Academic Year 2021-22. The College reopened on 14th June 2021. All final-year lectures started on the 15th of June. We successfully handled all semester-wise online examinations as per the guidelines of the University of Mumbai. All committee meetings like CDC, NSS, Magazine, Admission, etc. are conducted as per planning.
Prin. V.B.Rokade retired on 30th June 2021 and handover the charge to Dr. Ashwini Torane as in-charge Principal on 16th November 2021.
The college reopened on 15th November 2021 after Diwali vacation. As per The directions given by the university college has started offline lectures since the 15th of February 2022. The first CDC meeting was held on 26th October 2021and the Last was on 28th of March 2023 at 4:00 pm. Distribution of work among all members and other important topics were discussed.
Prof. Shubharaj Buwa was appointed as the coordinator of the IQAC from the Academic year 2020-21 till date. The Iso audit was held on 11th October 2021. Prof. Pankaj Pandagle and other members of the IQAC were present for the audit. The audit process was completed successfully. Remedial courses organized by teachers. Convocation Ceremony, festivals, and Annual Functions are also organized on the college premises.
Training Programs and Guidance Centres :
Mentoring Program for the academic year 2021-22 has inaugurated on 17th February 2022. Around 120 students were physically present for this program. All Teachers -mentors delivered their views on this occasion and encourage students to open up and ask for support, guidance in their carrier, and overall growth. The program will run in three ways – 1. Career Guidance 2. Skill development, 3. Personality Developments. All students will be divided among teachers – Mentors. Mentoring Program for the academic year 2021-22 has inaugurated on 17th February 2022. Prof. Pramod Dhengale ( Assistant Professor, English) is working as a coordinator for this program.
Equal Opportunity Centre on 10th February 2022 in the college. The Centre will work for creating awareness about scholarship schemes, aware students about new opportunities in the field of education and employment, and self-empowerment. Prof. Dnyaneshwar Jambhule( Assistant Professor, Economics) has been appointed as Coordinate Chief of this center.
We organized a workshop for office staff on November 3rd December 2021. Though all teaching and Non teaching staff were present for the session.
Co curricular activities :
Lecture series organized by Prof. Shubharaj Buwa Associate Professor of political science, on Indian Political Thought on 22 to 30th July 2021.
Prof. Shubharaj Buwa (Associate Professor, Dept Of Political science) successfully organized state-level lecture series in collaboration with Dept. Of political Science, the University Of Mumbai on 16th and 17th March 2022.

Dr. Ashwini Torane organized One day workshop for TYBA (Marathi) students on new syllabus for Paper No.6 in collaboration with M.D.College and Ruparel College. It was an interview and open discussion with writer Mr.Mahesh Keluskar on 4th SEP 2021. (available on Youtube)
Dr. Pankaj Pandagale Head Of the Department of Accountancy organized A Webinar on the topic “Career prospects in M.com” on 5th June 2021 at 6:30 P.M. In the webinar 250 students, teachers and researchers participated. The invited speaker Dr. Krishnan Nandela delivered a lecture with a powerpoint presentation. Dr. Nandela addressed the participant that huge numbers of opportunities are available for Mcom students. Sir has explained details information in public and private sector employment opportunities.
Extra Curricular activities :
We organized a lecture on the Contribution of Chatrapati Shau Maharaj on the Day of social justice which is 26th June.
Lecture delivered by Dr. Nanavare from Mahatma Phule College, Pimpri. Mukta Dabholkar delivered a lecture titled ‘ज्योतिषाकडे जाण्यापूर्वी’ on 17th July 2022.
We Celebrated birth anniversary of Savitrimai Phule on 3rd January 22.
Celebrated Marathi Bhasha Gaurav Din on 27th February 2022. Book exhibition(27th Feb2022) and Khadya Jatra(Food Fest)

Admission committee:
This year admission process was completely online for BA, BCom classes. It started in May 2021 and ended in November 2022. Due to the ongoing Corona crisis admissions were badly affected. Several online and offline meetings of the committee were held to finalize the admission software and to review the admissions. Teaching Staff, Office staff and some past students helped to complete the process, as usual.
Examination committee:
Online exams
MCQ-based online exams were conducted in September, October, November, and December 2021 as per Mumbai University guidelines. Prof. Prakash Sawant coordinated all the online processes with Prof. Shubharaj Buwa.
ATKT registrations online.
ATKT registrations were done online for the first time, as students are staying outside Mumbai and it was difficult to travel due to lockdown. Several committee meetings were held as and when required. Discussion of issues continued on the College group online.
Cultural Committee: We have organized Changabhala Festival with different competitions like Elocution, Poetry recitation, one-act play, Singing, Quiz, Essay, Handwriting, Drawing, Rangoli, etc. on 7th to 12th March 2022. Many students participated in these activities. Results were declared immediately. Prof. Sandeep Kajabe organized all the events.
First Time ever we organized Changbhala Inter collegiate elocution and Mono acting Competition. almost 17 colleges participated in it.
Many Students participated in Intercollegiate competitions and won an overall Trophy(1st prize) in Intercollegiate Competition organized by Gurukul College, Mumbai.
NSS Department: NSS enrolment process was completed by the end of November 2021. As usual, 100 volunteers were registered for this year’s batch Online lectures and seminars were conducted and the college NSS unit also participated in several activities organized by the University. Due to the lockdown, most of the activities were conducted online. But Some of the activities are placed offline also. The NSS team adopted the area near the college named Shiwadi-Koliwada. And organized ‘women and child health awareness’ drives, ‘alcohol antiaddiction awareness’ drive, presented a skit on ‘Gender equality, cleaned the area under ‘Swachcha Bharat Abhiyan’, worked on a ‘road safety project’, Blood Donation camp, Pulse polio camp , stem cell Awareness, tree plantation, etc. NSS volunteers also participated in University level programs also. Dr. Supriya Yadav worked continuously as a Program officer.
Sports Committee :
It was not possible to organize on ground sports activities in this academic year due to the lockdown imposed in Mumbai. Still, Chess and Carom competitions were organized on March 5 and 6 March 22.
Mr.Siddhesh Raut ( student from FYBCOM class) participated in an open Badminton competition and pursue excellent achievements. He has awarded as Best Player in the 7th Kerala All India badminton Championship 2021-22 and was selected from Maharashtra for the All India senior national championship, Hyderabad. The college has been awarded as the Best college in badminton by Mumbai division sports.
WDC :
We celebrated International Women’s Day (8th March ) by organizing a workshop on Blind faiths and harassment of women. Members of Akhil Bharatiya Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti discussed the issues with some practical experiences. Head Of the Department of Commerce Dr. Prakash Sawant coordinated with Guests and he himself gave a presentation as a resource person.
Staff meetings :
Online and offline staff meetings were held during the year.
Magazine committee:
College magazine Nishgandha (2020-21) was published on 2nd August 2021. Dr. Hubnath Pandye eminent scholar of Hindi Literature and Poet was the chief guest for the program. Publication of the annual college magazine for the academic year 2021-22 will be done in June -July 2022. Almost all the material has been collected. The chief editor is busy giving the finishing touches to the magazine.
Grievance committee:
No problems were reported to the grievance committee during this period.
Attendance committee:
Prof. Sandeep Kajabe was appointed as the chairperson of the Attendance committee.
Equal Opportunity Centre:
Equal Opportunity Centre helped students to fill the government scholarship forms and organized various programs explaining various government schemes. Prof. Dnyaneshwar Jambhule and Mr. Sandeep Nikumbh handled all these responsibilities.

Dr. Krishnan Nandela, Vice Principal, HoD and Associate Professor, Dept.of Economics.
Dr. Krishnan Nandela was appointed as subject expert/VC Nominee for CAS related work by the University of Mumbai for Kirti College, Dadar, Mumbai (Stage two to three).
He continues to be a Member, Board of Studies in Economics for Thakur College of Commerce and Science, Kandivali, Mumbai.
He was appointed as Moderator for the March/April semester end examinations by St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai.
He was also appointed as a Member of the Staff Training Academy, Gokhale Education Society during the year.
On 10th January, 2022, he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Economics by the JJT University, Rajasthan.
Dr. Prakash Sawant (HOD Commerce ) felicitated as BEST TEACHER Of The Gokhale Education Society on 19th FEB 2022.
Dr. Pankaj Pandagale, Hod and Assistant Professor in Accontancy.He Awarded PhD Degree in Accountancy by University Of Mumbai.He has More than 100 youtube lectures on Accountancy, Direct Tax, Goods and Service Tax (GST), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) subjects are freely available.

Dr. Supriya Yadav:
Awarded PhD degree in Accountancy by Shivaji University, Kolhapur for thesis submitted entitled, ‘A study of Impact of Corporate Governance on Quality of Interim Financial Reporting of Selected Indian Companies Listed on BSE. She received best sports personality award by Maharashtra association for canoeing and kayaking affiliated to Maharashtra Olympic association.
Prof. Dnyaneshwar Jambhule, Assistant Professor in Economics selected as a Board of Studies Member in the subject of Foundation Course First and Second Year Level at Bhavan’s College(Autonomous) He has registered for Ph.D. in the subject of Economics at Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathawada University Nanded on 07/07/0221. His research Topic was Approved by RRC. The topic of research is ‘A Critical Study of Human Development Indicators Among Scheduled Tribes in Chandrapur District’( 2010-11 to 2020-21)
Dr. Ashwini Torane worked as a Review Editor for Sambhashit, an online research journal publish by University Of Mumbai. She has been invited on the selection panel as VC Nominee Subject expert for promotion in M.D.College on 6th August 2021. Also Invited for moderation work in M.D.College.

Mrs. Sayli Adiwrekar Office Superintendent awarded by the best Employee Award of GES for the year 2021-22.
3.Training Courses attended by Faculty Members:
Dr. Supriya Yadav attended Two week inter disciplinary refresher course on managing online classes and co-creating MOOCS5.0 organized by teaching learning center, ramanujan college, Delhi under ministry of education and PMMMNMTT. Attended between 11-25 May, 2021.
Prof. Sandeep Kajabe attended Two week Refresher course on ‘Mathematical Sciences’ organized by the Teaching Learning Centre, Ramanujan College, University of Delhi between 14-28th June 2022.
Dr. Ashwini Torane participated and successfully completed one week training program ‘Transition to Leadership’ on 16th To 22nd April 2022 organised by Maharashtra State Faculty Development Academy at Shivajinagar,Pune.
Completed Ten days Vipassana Meditation Course on 22nd September to 3rd October 2021 at Igatpuri.
