Student Satisfaction Survey Report

Student satisfaction survey about the teaching-learning process for the academic year 2020-21 was conducted between 10th December 2021 to 31st January 2022.  113 Students responded to this survey.

The survey had 21 questions and was designed as per the guidelines provided by NAAC.  Link to the blank form.

Minimum age of the respondents was 18 and maximum was 53 years.  53% of the students were between 20 and 22 years of age, with 66% being male students.  There were no transgender students and none tried to hide their gender identity.    34% were female students.

Majority of the respondents (63%) were undergraduate commerce students. Almost 70% of the respondents stated that most of the syllabus is covered. Most of them (61%) stated that teachers prepare thoroughly for the classes and communicate effectively (69%). They also said that teachers illustrate the concepts through examples and applications, use student centric methods, such as experiential learning, participative learning and problem solving methodologies for enhancing learning experiences.

About 16.8% students say that teachers use ICT tools such as LCD projector, multimedia, etc. while teaching, to a great extent.

“Teaching and mentoring process significantly facilitates cognitive social and emotional growth”, this was the opinion of more than half students. They also said that the mentor takes necessary follow-up about the assigned task. About 80% students agree that the institution provides multiple opportunities to learn and grow.

Almost 40% believe that teachers’ approach towards teaching was excellent and for another 40% , it was very good.

71% students said that the internal evaluation process was fair and half of the students said that teachers discuss project work.

About the institute taking active interest in promoting internship, student exchange, field visit opportunities for students, their reaction was mixed – 28% students said that the institution does all these activities regularly.

61% students said that teachers most of the time inform them about expected competencies, course outcomes and programme outcomes.

Teachers identify strengths and weaknesses and encourage students with providing right level of challenges (67% respondents)

About 90% students agree that the institution institution makes effort to engage students in the monitoring, review and continuous quality improvement of the teaching learning process.

52% Stated that participation in extracurricular activities is encouraged. 59% students say that efforts are made by the institute/ teachers to inculcate soft skills, life skills and employability skills to make students ready for the world of work, to a great extent.

50% Students strongly agree that teaching-learning process in the institute is very good and another 40% agree with this fact, 8% preferred to remain neutral about this fact and about 3% agree or strongly disagree.

Finally, they were asked to provide three observations/suggestions to improve overall teaching-learning experience. Most of them replied “There is nothing to change everything is good.” Few had no comments to make. Some of them were worried about online classes and expected to start full fledged offline teaching soon.

“There is nothing to change everything is good. I think our college institute is very well for teaching and learning. Cause lot’s of students do part time work and also full time. All teachers and also students give their best performance so I don’t think about improving teaching and learning. It’s very good and I understand what they teach and all teachers are truly connected with their students. And they also help us about any kind of problem. Thank you ….!!!”

One student expects practice sessions before actual exam. He was impressed by the use of multimedia while teaching and he was also thankful to the college for organising expert lectures and teaching life skills beyond regular syllabus.

Another student wanted more sessions on personality development and explanation in Hindi and English.

Some complained about the helpline not being available often. College is aware of this fact. Due to restrictions during the COVID-19 lockdown period college office was not working fulltime.

Some demanded college picnic.

A mirror was required in washroom and some improvement in girl’s washroom was required.

One student said, “Results should be on time.”

There was a demand for LCD projector in each room.

Institution is doing their best as they are ready for any kind of challenges.

All teachers are very knowledged. All lectures are on time. No improvement needed.

खूप चांगल्या पद्धतीने शिकवले जाते. चांगलं मार्गदर्शन केलं जातं फक्त lecture off असतील तर आधीच कळवले पाहिजे,म्हणजे आम्ही दुसरे शिक्षकांना lecture घेण्यास सांगू धन्यवाद🙏. (They teach very well. Excellent guidance. Just intimate us well in time about ‘off’ lectures so we can ask other teachers to conduct those lectures.)

More focus should be on practical.

Everything is absolutely good in our college.

Use better graphics and visual media to engage students well. Better graphics and colors arouse the interest and desire to learn among students
